Valpak was founded in 1981 by Mr.Terry Valentin in partnership with Nissho Iwai, the Japanese trading company. The business was established to manufacture High Density Polyethylene plain and printed bags at its Cromer factory – which it did very successfully growing to 50 staff by 1987.
The business was bought by Containers Packaging (division of Amcor) in 1988, merged with CelloPak that same year and moved to Brookvale, now with 75 staff. The company continued to be the major Australian manufacturer of high density carton liners to major food processing companies as well as becoming a major supplier of waste bags to NSW Hospitals.
As part of a major corporate restructure the business was acquired by the current owners in 1998 and moved back to Cromer.
The business has evolved into a manufacturing and wholesaling business supplying a diverse range of industries with plastic packaging, disposable aprons, agricultural products, printed retail bags and high quality films.
We are very much aware of the environmental limitations of plastic bags and we are focussing our business into the use of sustainable resources as well as offering degradable and compostable Cellophane bags where appropriate.
Because of our combined 100 years of packaging experience, we are able to offer packaging solutions to every industry and retailer.
